The demand of coffee had to be met by using chemical fertilizers for a greater yield of coffee. The coffee produced using traditional shaded method is having superior taste and quality compared to the sun cultivated. The sun cultivation method and usage of pesticides has raised environmental problems of deforestation, pesticide pollution soil degradation, also the destruction of the habitat.
Many of the Nature activities and organization came forward with the implication of traditional cultivation method campaign to the world. Shaded coffee cultivation method was coming up as a result of the campaign. As more people started preferring organic coffee more cultivators started working on shaded cultivation methods.
