You no longer have to get an account with a cable company or satellite TV company, or rent or buy a DVD, in order to watch your favorite movies at home. Gone are the days when you had to watch a movie for the umpteenth time because DirecTV or Dish network seem to play the same movies over and over again for weeks and months on end. Now you can either supplement your TV subscription service or replace it all together with movies online. Sure you can buy or rent DVDs, but think about the gas you’re spending and the cost of rentals. Go ahead, keep some of your entertainment money in your own pocket, plop a bag of buttery popcorn in the microwave, and kick back in front of your computer screen. Try it out. See how well it works for you. With the right set of speakers and a generous sized screen, you won’t miss your television much at all. Know that you will have a far bigger selection of movies at your fingertips online than you will with your TV subscription. Now you can either watch a movie you’ve never seen before or watch one that you’ve seen, but it won’t be because it’s the only thing on the tube. Boy how times have changed for the better!

It’s one thing to hear the hottest artists singing their latest hits on YouTube and to watch their videos one after another for free, but watching a full length film online at no cost is just as rewarding. You can’t get a better deal than that. You might not get the latest, but you can still watch some of the greatest movies ever made, such as The Adventures of Huck Finn or Gone with the Wind and watch them instantly on many sites.

Check them out for yourself; you will be pleasantly surprised at how big a selection some sites have. There are genres for every movie buff out there. You’ll find genres, such as action, adventure, fantasy, documentary, biography, mystery, thriller and so much more.

So, consider cutting down on entertainment costs and have more money for other activities--or just to pay your bills. Keep in mind, though, that it’s easy to exploit the bootlegging sites unintentionally, so do your homework before you decide to stream or download a movie. By reading a site’s disclaimer, you will often see that they take no responsibility for what you watch if they are acting only as a directory to other sites. Take some times to investigate the sites the movies are streamed or downloaded from. It’s important to find the legitimate free movie pages. Use your common sense; if a site offers a movie that’s still playing in a theatre, that’s a big clue right there that it’s not an honest offer. Always check out the terms and conditions. Copyright laws are another way to help you decide if a movie is in the public domain. Just like a book or a song, if the copyright is past a certain date, usually years, it is in the public domain. Obviously, you can’t expect newer movies to fall into this category.
