As the development of economy and society, the level of our life has improved a lot. The urbanization is expanded a lot throughout the country, which means fast pace and high quality of life. While duo to the unbalanced development of economy, there is a big gap between rural area and urban area. General speaking, it is much more difficult to make a living for those who live hard and poor life in rural areas than in urban areas. So they swarmed into cities and make “big money” and their children are left-behind and be looked after by their old parents or other relatives.
They really make big money and their material life improved a lot. Their experienced a lot of colorful city life which expanded their horizons. While the old saying puts that “If one gains something here, he might lose something”. They missed most happiest time of their life: watching TV and chatting together, taking care of their old parents and children, celebrating festivals with their families and so on. They also suffered loneliness and indifference, and they got homesick. Their families are less intimate with them for they haven’t seen much of each other for a long time.
The left-behind old people live a miserable life. The old people have to do heavy labor and take care of children, which beyond their capability. They suffers a lot physically and mentally. It is well know that old people are easier to got sick and they need more care. While there is no nobody to take care of them when they are ill. Life is too burden and hard for them. The old saying puts that while his parents are alive, the son should not be far away from home.
Those, who want to make big money in cities, should take your parents into consider. We should try our best to create happy life for our parents.
Left-behind children are one of the hottest issues. They are force to be independent at earlier age than other children. Life is much harder for these left-behind children. They have to look after themselves, and they can turn to no one for help when they are in trouble. Lake of care and love, they become solitary and unsociable. They close themselves in a corner and refuse to communicate with their teachers and classmates.
Some of them are weary of studying and even skip school. And some of them become problem children. All in all, they just want to draw their parent's attention. They desire their parents would be with them when they need care and help.
This situation should be paid attention to. It is not a single-family issue which became a big social one. The local government should figure out measures to enhance the development of local economy and create more jobs for its residents, and give more help to the left-behind children and old people. The parents should take responsibility to take care of their family. The public school should give more attention to those left-behind children.
In my opinion, nothing can be much happier than together with your family. Money can’t buy happiness. So the society and the government should do cooperate to create such harmony for every family.
