The Advanced Place Bet System
Here is the betting method for experienced players.
After making a bet on Don’t Pass, and a number is established, and you have placed the number, make another bet, this time on Don’t Come. If a number is thrown, place that number. You now have two numbers. Then make another bet on Don’t Come. If a number is thrown, place that number. Now you have three numbers—the more the merrier because, if numbers are being made, you will be winning money on your place bets. As soon as one of your place bet numbers hits and you are paid, bet again on Don’t Come. If a number is thrown and you place that number, you still have three numbers. Continue to play this way until the shooter misses or sevens out. When the shooter sevens out, the dealer “locks up” your place bets, but he will pay your bet on Don’t Pass and your two bets on Don’t Come. Start again with the next shooter. Three bets are sufficient for the experienced player. It will keep you busy and on your toes— especially if you are making these bets by yourself.

This system is much easier for two people. They can stand either at opposite ends of the table or next to each other. When playing partners, I suggest a minimum bet of $25 to $50 each. The player betting on Don’t Pass and Don’t Come will only have to concentrate on betting wrong. The other player will only have to concentrate on placing the number his partner goes on. For example, the partner betting wrong bets $50 on Don’t Pass. A 5 is thrown.

The partner placing the numbers immediately gives the dealer $50 and says, “Place the five.” The partner betting wrong then bets $50 on Don’t Come. A 4 is thrown. The place bettor immediately gives the dealer $50, saying “Place the four.” The partner betting wrong makes another bet of $50 on Don’t Come. The shooter throws a 6. The place bettor at once gives the dealer $50 and says, “Place the six.” They now have three numbers going. If any of the three numbers is made, the partner betting wrong makes a bet on Don’t Come again. If a number is thrown, the place bettor places the number for the same amount.

Continue betting this way until the shooter misses out. When that happens, start from the beginning and repeat.

If the Don’t Pass number is made (which means the shooter has made his number on the Pass line), the partner placing the numbers must ALWAYS tell the dealer, “My place bets always work on the comeout.” This is done because odds automatically are off on the comeout in all casinos. Comeout means that the shooter has made his previous number or point. Now he is coming out fora NEWpoint or number. That is, if one of your numbers is thrown on the comeout you will be paid on your place bet: However, if you didn’t tell the dealer that your place bets work on the comeout, and one of your numbers was thrown, the dealer would have locked up your bet on “Don’t Come” and would not pay you on the place bet. Instead of winning a bet, you would lose a bet.
