What a selection of dining choices there are in Australia. Anyone’s taste buds are likely to be tickled when sampling the cuisine available in Brisbane, Sydney, Narabeen, or any other location on the continent. Whatever the palate calls for, Australian restaurants can provide to suit any budget, any time. Seafood, beef, Asian food, and the traditional plates can be found, as well as the best domestic and imported wines available anywhere.

Brisbane alone offers such a wide and varied selection of styles of menus that the diner may have to spend an extra day or two just sampling the fine foods. There can be found everything from the best Asian fare at the Wang Dynasty and Zenbar to exotic Turkish food at the Ottoman. Classic Italian cuisine is the order of the day at Mariosarti, and those with a craving for a good pizza pie will love the Wild Pepper who offers such fancy toppings as prawns and lamb with feta and pesto.

The familiar aroma of a good old fashioned fish and chips shop wafts from the kitchen of The Fishmonger’s Wife along with other gourmet seafood and salads. A view of Brisbane River can be enjoyed at several of the fine restaurants here, especially in the Oxford Street section which is home to several high-class dining establishments, such as Tonic on Oxford. There’s even a quality restaurant at Portside Wharf. Wilson’s Boathouse Seafood Restaurant is located amongst the cruise ships and offers a wonderful view of the river.

Further down the coast in Sydney are some of Australia’s best and unique local restaurants.

The terminal at Circular Quay offers some of the best views of lower CBD and the Sydney Opera House, and a fine meal can also be enjoyed here while taking in the view. The Cruise restaurant is an intimate yet elegant location for dining, specializing in the finest Italian cuisine to be found on the Gold Coast. One of the most unique of exotic restaurants here is Al Madina, featuring fine Lebanese dishes in an authentic atmosphere that includes a belly dancer every Friday and Saturday night.

Traditional Japanese fare and an authentic decor is ready and waiting at Ainoya, which offers a complete list of wines to complement any food. Some of the best grilled food available anywhere can be found at the Ablaze Grill and Bar, located right in the heart of the Entertainment Quarter. Steaks, chicken, ribs, seafood, and of course burgers can be heard sizzling, and there are fabulous vegetarian dishes available as well. Oh, and yes, the pizza is firing in those aromatic ovens of such fine parlors as Mona Vale Woodfire, the Cantina Woodfire, and Cantina Too. The whole gamut of imaginable toppings and some not imagined are ready to be added to the tomato sauce, parsley and garlic to make a meal not soon to be forgotten.

These are but a few of the choice restaurants to be found in Australia. The best of the best can be found, of course, in Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth, as well as across the Southland and the coastal paradise that makes up this fantastic continent.
