The television talk shows, the magazines, and even the
federal government have discussed the need to modify daily
activity to improve cardiac fitness and global well-being. We
have taken their limited advice and started taking the stairs
instead of the elevator whenever possible. We started
parking farther from the grocery store and loading our own
bags. We make sure to walk or bike instead of drive to the
neighbors living all the way on the other side of the
subdivision. Great! Unfortunately, this isn’t going to make
that 30-50lbs come off by the “Forty and Fabulous” birthday
bash approaching ever-so-quickly on the calendar. So then
we arrange to meet with friends when possible for a walk a
couple times a week or buy the “good sneakers” and renew
the gym membership in hopes things will be different with
this time. Yet we still cannot get those pounds off. Why?

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention determined
that approximately half of North American adults do not
obtain the recommended amount of physical activity. In
2008, the National Center for Health Statistics estimated
that two thirds of U.S adults are either overweight or obese,
and one third are obese - with overweight defined as a body
mass index (BMI) of 25-29.9 and obesity as a BMI of 30 or
greater. With moderately intense activity done for 30
minutes on 5 or more days weekly or 20 minutes of
vigorous intensity at least 3 days weekly, you can potentially
reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and diabetes.
However, in terms of weight, you may have to do about an
hour of exercise 5 times a week just to maintain your
current weight. But because you want to slim down into that
little black dress still tagged and hanging in your closet, you
will have to do even more exercise – at minimum, 60 to 90
minutes daily to get to your goal in time for the high school
reunion this season. Painful, yes!

You say to yourself that it would be nearly impossible to get
in all that exercise into your busy life with getting prepared
for the conferences at work and then carting the children to
all their play dates and activities. Instead, you decide to try
eating less but find yourself always hungry with missing
meals and then cycling through sinful late-night binging
episodes.

It can be completely frustrating. Later, we begin to
think we should just give up on the whole idea. Maybe that’s
just how it has to be because we are getting older and, after
all, everyone else in the family was destined to have large
thighs and love handles. Or maybe we were told that we
aren’t supposed to have a small waistline ever again because
we’ve had our second or third pregnancy. Well, don’t believe
that dribble and don’t give up.

At Waverly Weight Loss, LLC, we understand that not
everyone can stay in the gym all day everyday and that you
cannot go day-after-day eating celery sticks and protein
powders. We know that you cannot eat pre-packaged meals
forever. Also, what happens if your plans call for dining out
or traveling? You can’t be the only one at the dinner table
unable to eat because the meals aren’t pre-wrapped and
weighed. We also know that everyone has different needs
and restriction involved with achieving a healthier, slimmer
body. Our board-certified physician will base a program for
your lifestyle, in tune with your health concerns, and your
weight loss goals. You will be able to meet with the same
doctor, not a company representative, weekly to monitor
your progress and adjust your treatment plan as needed.
Changing your lifestyle and menu decisions don’t have to be
agonizing when you have serotonin supplementation and are
educated about food choices. The serotonin supplements
incorporated in the Serotonin-Plus weight loss program will
help you feel satisfied so you won’t have the urge to
overeat. It can also reduces your cravings for those high-
caloric carbohydrate snacks that would require hours of high-
impact, grueling aerobic classes to get off.

So yes, optimal management of obesity requires a
combination of diet, exercise, and behavior changes. But it
doesn’t necessarily require that you suffer through
starvation or joint aches to achieve your goal. With the
assistance of Waverly Weight Loss, LLC and the Serotonin-
Plus weight loss program, you will be able to safely lose the
extra pounds and have the tools to keep the weight off this
time.
