The Land Rover Discovery is a luxury midsize SUV which is known as LR3 in the USA. The new 2005 model of the LR3 was a partnership effort between Land Rover and Ford Motors. Though the engine is quite powerful still a section of people who want a power thrill from such classic vehicles feel that they have underpowered the SUV. Another optional engine of 400 horsepower or somewhere near it could have made this Land Rover Discovery a gigantic beast yet so silent and somber in qualities.
Yet the acceleration and cursing of the present engine is effortless and the torque force enables you to accelerate quite fast. The LR3 engine is again a glutton when it comes to matter of fuel efficiency. This less fuel efficiency may cause the new SUV dearly. People want a midsize SUV which can at least give those 16 mpg on city roads, but the LR3 3.0 liter engine runs only 12 mpg.
