Parliament and the executive:disruption or digression?
There is a certain wanton hypocrisy to us using democracy and its visual symbols as tokenism when it suits our pursose and it is most evident in the manner in which our country’s parliament function (or perhapes doesn’t) and this is what saddens me. We cannot have parliament being disrupted for reasons that are both facetious and trivial. it is fine for the Opposition to clamour for probity and transparency and decisive and swift action from the executive but when the same executive takes an executive decision, Parliament is used as the whipping boy and conveniently disrupted. So is the opposition a disruptive and digressive force in our country? And is this the kind of democracy we wish o hail and ascribe to ?

Arindam Chaudhuri - That’s Mahatma Gandhi’s India for you!
Violent revolutions – as Marx put it – or violent movements or plain violence; history is proof to the fact that what succeeded worldwide as a mode of change and evolution (be it in France, America, Russia or China) failed in India. The great freedom fighter and revolutionary Subhash Chandra Bose, defeated Gandhi’s own man in the Indian National Congress (INC) elections, became the President of INC, and gave his famous call to the citizens of India, “Give me blood, I will give you freedom.”
